THEY PLAYED together in the pro-am before this year’s Open de Andalucía at the Parador course, and two weeks later Pedro Fernández was on Miguel Ángel Jiménez’s bag in the US Masters. Now they have joined forces to set up Jimenez’s first golf academy.

Officially inaugurated in September, the Miguel Ángel Jiménez Golf School is located at the Altorreal club in Murcia. It offers instruction at three levels: beginners, advanced and competition. State-of-the-art swing and putt analysis is available, as well as a physiotherapist and nutrition experts.

Fernández competed in the main Spanish ACB league for his home Polaris World C.B. Murcia team before injury prompted him to retire in 2007.
