Swedish Domination of Ladies European Tour Grand Finale

Only two players had a chance of finishing number one on the 2022 Ladies European Tour heading into the final tournament of the year – and both were Swedish. Linn Grant and Maja Stark engaged in a close duel for most of the event, played at the Alferini course in the Anantara Villa Padierna Palace resort in Benahavís. 

In the end, however, 23-year-old Grant, who had previously been named the 2022 “Rookie of the Year”, prevailed with an eight-under 65 that secured her third place in the Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España and top spot in the “Race to Costa del Sol” final order of merit. 

Another Swede, 33-year-old Caroline Hedwell, defeated Switzerland’s Morgane Metraux on the fourth extra hole of a play-off to win her first title in four years.
